NSD1077 How to use predefined search with multi DB
Fact
NordicEdge Identity Manager – Web edition
Situation
Multi DB functionality in Identity Manager can be used to view data on an object from multiple data sources. If a user exists in multiple directorys, selected user data can be presented.
Predefined search can be used to also allow to search in the other directorys. This document describe how to set this up.
Solution
- Download the attached filter (MultiDBSearch.class)
- Copy the file to the tomcat server, sample path:
/tomcat5-im36/webapps/nordicedge/WEB-INF/classes/filter
- Set the policy "Custom.SearchResults.Filters" with value "filter.MultiDBSearch"
Note: This can be set in DSEditor.properties or in a top object in the directory.
- Configure the needed multi DB (if not already configured), using the policys under the section "MultiDB"
- Create the predefined search to be used for the other DB.
Note: Base DB in the predefined search configuration will be replaced with the base DN configured in the MultiDB configuration.
Add a policy manually "MULTIDB_X_PDSEARCH_NAMES", replace X with the number of multi DB to be used, and set the value to "pdsearch name1,pd search name2, etc". This in the name of the prefined searches to be used, separated with comma.
